Un-provable Point of View
With Vjenceslav Richter, Spatial Picture no. 20, 1997
2015. Slide projector, projection screen, base. Dimensions variable. Spatial picture no. 20: self-adhesive foil, acrylic glass, 39,5 x 39,5 x 39,5 cm.
“The basis of the unprovable lies in the contingent existence of phenomena about which, with our natural and artificial receptors, we cannot get any information.”
Vjenceslav Richter, in My Cognitive Space
Vjenceslav Richter’s Spatial Image – a three-dimensional transparent object – is illuminated by a slide projector. Its shadow is projected onto the screen. As visitor enters the space, at first he/ she encounters only the shadow image, being unaware of the actual light/ object relation that causes it.
